The Chicago Skyline makes for a great background for this image of city railroading. Three crew members is what it took to operate Chicago Terminals former Milwaukee Road trackage in Chicago's North Side. On this trip on the 24th of June, 2014, CTM900 was doing a duo of industrial pickups and setouts. Here is one of those moves captured on Goose Island. They had just coupled onto an empty centerbeam flat car, and were ready to pull back so they could get to the loaded car, and spot it in about the same place as the empty was. Big Bay Lumber was the last customer on Goose Island and eventually became the last customer on the trackage altogether. Chicago terminals final runs on these lines would be in 2016. Their final runs on the rest of their lines would be in 2019, as Iowa Pacific has gotten into some financial hardships.
