DO THE MATH! - https://youtu.be/q00DQgewH74
The Atari Jaguar was released by Atari Corporation in 1993. Developed after three years of research, and manufactured by IBM. It was originally bundled with Cybermorph, a technically impressive game, that although good, was not terribly interesting to play, lengthy delays in producing new games was a constant frustration for owners, with many months passing with no new titles, also the second wave of games was met with complete derision from the gaming press invited to the launch in London.
Upon release, it was criticized for its complex controller design, failure to distinguish itself from its 16-bit competitors, and perceived low quality game library. The console's multi-chip architecture made game development for the console difficult, not helped by having a very bugged development system, this led to some lazy ports from the 16 bit consoles, that used the onboard 68000 processor as the main CPU, which was not its intended purpose, this was just supposed to manage the other components.
Underwhelming sales further contributed to the console's lack of third party support, splitting the small amount of units available between multiple territories was a huge mistake.
This in addition to the lack of internal development at Atari, led to a limited games library, comprising only 67 licensed titles.
Of all the video gaming systems that ever released in my life time WHY THE HELL did it had to be the Atari Jaguar 64 that was launch on November 23rd, 1993 ON MY BIRTHDAY OF ALL THINGS! And only 4 games was launch with it one was a Cheap Knock Off Star Fox game Cybermorph as a packin. But it was Atari and the main reason I wanted THE JAG was in the back of the box and some magazine page ads was images of games and one of them was Tiny Toon Adventures for the Atari Jaguar but sadly it never was released. To this day Im still pissed off that Tiny Toon never saw the light of day but only in prototype roms. Anyway...
If anyone like to see Tiny Toon Adventures look like game play CLICK LINK TO SEE THE VIDEO of the prototype in action - https://youtu.be/OT5MP949LCU
The 4 launch games are,

Evolution Dino Dudes

I do believe the Jaguar had a great set up under the hood. It just never found it's miracle programmers that got to learn how to pull it's real power out. Just like how Cybermorph reminds me of this one first gen PlayStation space fighter game with terrible draw distance, horrid controls and so much more...or should I say 'less'. But, the PS had so much more power then that and later games that came along, proved it.
It's just for me that I gave the console one whole hour...

Atari did have a lot of mis-steps. Why, I still remember getting my hands on an Atari 5200. Never seen an RF box where the power supply goes into it. And that scary micro arc it creates while doing so. Sure. The games looked nicer then their 2600 counterparts. Alas, couldn't play a single one. Both controllers were DOA. And I've never seen a 7800 or Lynx out in the wild. So it seems like they all were poor sellers.
Alas, despite all of that, Atari's biggest mis-step was missing the offer from a little Japanese company named Nintendo. Had that happened, we might be a step closer to Blade Runner by still playing Atari, today. Instead of the Jaguar's legacy going on to house dental equipment.

"On a side note, the Jaguar really messed up when it came to overseas markets. It took Atari forever to release it to all of Europe. Germany didn't get it immediately, and Spain got it two years later! On April 1st."
"Not joking! No pun intended."
"Of course, Europe was downright lucky compared to Australia. In 1993, USD to Australia was around 1.5X. If there were no tariffs, the Jaguar would've cost around $375Aus. But there were tariffs, which raised the price by an additional $325Aus! In 1993, for Americans, that would've been a $217 tariff. Adjusted for inflation, that's basically paying $401 extra for a garbage excuse of a console! Did I 'do the math' Atari!?"
