I guess the only way to know for sure is to try them and find out...which can always allow for some interesting and possibly fun results ;)
Also just wanted to add that it's an interesting concept as most stories put magic/mages and such against dragons, so to have one that uses it (and dresses like that/looks adorable with that hat on ;) ) is definitely very unique...
