COASAM: We Want Our Food, and We Want It Right Now!
Although the acronym "COASAM," meaning "Compositions of a Stupid Autistic Mind," sounds as if I'm beating myself up for being human (my worst habit), it also represents the annoying things I used to do as a child, which proved to my parents I really am autistic. This whole series of compositions are based on dreams I have from time to time, which are flashbacks of my childhood. These repetitive melodies, therefore, are generally either things I improvised and they stuck with me, or were based on things I discovered I remembered wrong.
Although I wanted to do another one of these for large or small pit percussion, I decided it was just easier to do a piano solo (although I also have an electric piano doing the exact same thing). Working a fast food job that I do, this piece is a representation of when I have to deal with impatient customers, although this might be exaggerated a bit:
1. "We want our food, and we want it right now!" - first four measures, played at 75 beats a minute
2. "Hurry up! Hurry up! How long is this gonna take?" - played at 130 beats a minute
3. Repeat this slightly faster, with allegro marking
4. Repeat this at tempo marked presto
5. At adagio tempo, "I have been waiting forever!"
6. Repeat this at moderato tempo
7. Repeat presto
8. At moderato tempo, "Where, oh where is my order?"
9. Repeat this at vivace tempo
10. Repeat presto
11. Repeat the beginning as the ending, but at 80 beats a minute
Not all customers are like this, but the impressions that the ones who are like this have left on me these past 4 and a half years and counting can be summarized as this.

I'm not sure if they are expecting it to be good. They just want it now. Many times people blame us if they're late to work or their kids are late for school, and while sometimes it is our fault, other times they just chose the wrong time to come to McDonald's. This especially happens early in the morning when there's just three people in the store (myself, a manager, and another crew member), and we get a ton of cars in the drive-thru. Only once has an employee (but it wasn't me) ever said to a customer that they could have gone anywhere they wanted, but they chose to come here, so they are just as much at fault as we were.
Other times, people just want to pick a fight.

I'm going with the conclusion that they chose to come at the wrong time. They could meal prep or use a portable cooking device like the Itaki Chef. If only they knew more about planning ahead of time, none of these inconveniences would happen.
I'm leaning towards lying then. I have American friends who work in construction in far places and they have time to cook and meal prep. It doesn't have to be fancy to be good. In fact, many good looking dishes can be made quickly. Gordon Ramsay has proven that you don't need to be a professional chef with a lot of time to cook good food.
