...Maybe Try Some Philautia This Year...(Valentines Day)
Love sucks.
I mostly mean between dude and dudettes. Seriously, after observing humans so much, peoples' IQs literally take a dip after going further than friendship. I mean, really, love isn't as strong or as good as they make it in the movies or the games. It's more a determent really.
I mean seriously, what's wrong with just being friends? Practically all the same stuff, without the fake-commitment that people can get out of with the divorce word (wrecking it up for offspring in the process).
Case and point. Take Spyro here. Guy's not exactly the sharpest tool, but he's decent enough. But he's a duo relationship going on here. Both...not as picture perfect as it seems. One plays him like some kind of doll while the other one is a battle-emotion-hardened goth chick (kinda). Both are kind of at the extreme poles, but each wants a commitment. Cynder wants'em both to be strong for anything that comes up in the future, while Ember just wants a boy-toy. Being the 'nice guy', he tries to please both without going TOO far...but...............as we see it goes a little too far.
So this year, hold on the romantic gestures, diamond rings, money things, and just freakin' hang out like when you were friends. Remember? Before you regretted that $30,000 money splurge for a "special day", where you could have simply done it at on the beach or something?
Step away from Éros this year and go the Phil route. Either appreciate your friends or appreciate yourself. You can do the later without being a selfish oaf about it, because lets face it, it's better to love YOURSELF first then to force love others.

Hikaru Daichi: Yeah, love isn't always easy, Hanami and I have serious goals in common, and we're planning to be married. Like Ember, she's is really innocent and caring, I mean- don't get me wrong, she doesn't force me to cross-dress for her tea-party and that, *sighs* she's rather a charming princess than a spoiled tea-party-goer like Ember is, but when it comes to fighting along Hanami, she's SERIOUSLY determined like her big sister- heck, she even scolds me whenever I get reckless in front of her, and she heals my wounds with her magic- makes me want to make things even with her. Another thing, My big sister, Hatsuya, she's like Cynder, but MUCH more silent and violent! Whenever I see her alone, she's always silent; like a woman with few words, but she can talk just fine. But whenever Hatsuya fights, she's faster than a thunderbolt! She shreds her enemies without showing emotion... like NO. FREAKING. MERCY! Yikes, Hatsuya's like my rival Yoshiro, he's fast, serious, but he's NOT as frightening as she is! Look at her- the pitch-black hair, the lips dark as an obsidian, and her skin white as ashes- she's literally a speed demon with two samurai swords on each hand! *Shudders* I wouldn't want to face Yoshiro again when HE gets a lot of Hatsuya's... y'know, DNA. I might've overheard Yoshiro's planning to marry Hatsuya, Like, Yeesh! Hatsuya and Yoshiro are a pretty deadly couple with these traits of theirs! *Exhales aloud* I'm surprised Shinji and his little sis got along with them before I even attended the Horizoneer Academy!
