Did you use a brush for the ferns at all?

Do you mean like a fern brush? Birds drew in the big fern at the bottom left, and I painted in the other little ferns around the figure with a small, round brush. The dense ferns at the top and lower right are photo collage elements -- I cut bits and pieces from photos of ferns I'd taken, composited them here, and painted over top of them.

This time around I played with photo collage with some pics I'd taken in Portland (ferns and moss) and SF (the flowers and other random greenery). I chopped up bits of the photos and added bits and pieces here and there, then painted over them <3

Small thing though...if the guy and the area around him's in focus, shouldn't the super close flowers at the top be uniformly out of focus? I can't understand a hesitation towards blurring them because they's so purty, but it's distracting/a little odd. Draws the eye out...

Auckland is pretty great, haha. I'm a little bit homesick, to be honest >: Wellington is really nice though, a really friendly community and stuff. Way more supportive of street art here than anywhere else I've been in NZ, which is great for me. Plus the weather since I moved here has been fucking fantastic.

And man, his highschool days sound ace as. They've banned bonfires in the last few years because of the heat and native bush and shit like that, so I never got to experience one in true drunken glory.

I'm not too familiar with Sticky Fingers, where was it? And what highschool was your roomie from?

ah now that i think of it i think it was at christchurch, which was like by no means my favorite place : |. good food though! and i remember everything on the menu was named after a sexual innuendo which was maaad uncomfortable since i was with family
