Some primitive cultures and a few ignorant, modern ones believe that a camera or other photographic device can steal the soul of the subject it is focused upon. There is the fear of one's soul being ripped from the corporeal form and becoming forever trapped in a two-dimensional medium with the look of horror frozen on their face.

kithy happened to be my first victim...ahem...subject. Facetiously, he cried out, "What have you done?!? My soul!" A seemingly insignificant moment turned out to be a fun memory. And as the years passed, the more I wanted to draw an exaggeration of our interaction.
