Such terrible news! I have only a few memories of Greg, but very fond ones.
About 10 years ago I happened to fly into Newark airport, where Greg was working as a security guard (I think). Not only did he greet me at arrivals, he then gave me a ride into Manhattan, all without any prompting or expectation on my part!
He asked me waaaaay back in 2003 or 2004 if I was interested in going to Anthrocon. Like an idiot, I said no -- and in fact it wouldn't be until 2017 I finally attended. Greg was there as well, and he was a most reassuring presence during my first ever furcon.
That was the last time I saw Greg, but we exchanged e-mails just at the start of this year, when he hoped he was on the mend.
A sweet man. R.I.P.
