This is for a friend ^^

After watching Avatar I wasn't very pleased with the creatures design. Specially the 'dire horse' or whatever they called that colorful snail-ant eater looking creature.

I wanted to create another mount for aliens, of course from another planet. I did it, and after that I though that put a vanguard rider on it would be nicer.

Ok, about the image: lets assume that vanguard also went through a medieval period. Still they didn't have all the advanced technology, so like humans they could have used some local tamed creatures to their advantage.

So here is it, a Vanguard rider and his loyal mount

PS: oh, BTW the style reminds on 'Gargoyles' (I used to love that show). And cartoon shaded style too.
