I think this was the first "proper" scratch board I ever did. Proper as in ... I sketched the piece and transferred the sketch to the scratch board. And I used different tools that I felt were more suited for scratching than the tools the scratch board came with. The scratch board pieces I did before were fun and make for some really unique art pieces, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for style wise. With this piece, I finally felt like I was getting the hang of things and going into the direction I wanted. :)
It's really quite old (7 or 8 years) ... Also, this is copper scratch board. The picture isn't brilliant, but at least it shows some of its shine.

This is absolutely phenomenal! I'm staring at this piece with my jaw dropped and can't stop looking at every intricate detail. There is such amazing light and shadow and such realistic fur and anatomy, this looks almost photo realistic. It's like she's in a hazy room, lit up only by the rising (or setting) sun streaming through some gaps in the blinds. I wish I could give you a hug of appreciation for sharing this with us. Merely saying it's gorgeous doesn't do this piece justice.
This is a very beautiful piece. It reminds me a lot of something that Cristina Penescu would do. You can find it here: http://wild-visions.com/ Love the detail you put in to this. I can tell it was a lot of work.
