Can't believe I never posted this.
Years ago when I was still a kid I got to witness an owl and hawk fight at a campground. As I approached the mass of feathers unsure as to what was going on or even what it was a hawk and owl tore away from each other, flying in opposite directions. The hawk kept going, and the owl perched on the pine trees in the distance but seemed to stand his ground, silhouetted against the fading light of the slowly setting sun. He put his feathers up and that silhouette has stood out in my mind since then.
Painted back in '06, probably the event was sometime in '97.
