Ho-Oh and Lugia ACEO
Yeah, I love these games. LOL.
Personally like the original Gold/Silver's music better, but overall I'm enjoying the remake. The Pokewalker is a frickin' brilliant idea. D:
But yes, getting some use out of my markers this week. >> School has been... rather uninteresting, so I did this today instead of doing homework. Now I have to spend the rest of the night frantically drawing, BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. |D *twitch*
I'm not confident enough with my traditional skills to trade with other artists yet, but I thought that'd be a cool thing to try that out sometime in the near future. c:
Tools: Copics, ballpoint, and woodless colored pencils on 2.5"x3" vellum bristol paper. Gel pen for highlights.
Time Taken: About 4 hours, broken up into two sessions.

Aww... thank you! ;;
I actually add the ballpoint pen last, since it can smear so badly. A clean pencil sketch can hold up okay under Copics if you're careful... so maybe try that? Ballpoints are awesome, and I'd die if I had to ink lines like normal people do. D': *lazy*

Aww... thank you! ;; Pokemon are some of the most fun things to draw, at least for me. :D
I am actually, although I have a few in line before you. (I generally work on commissions nearer to the weekends, so the list should get smaller by Sunday.) XD Here's a link to my commission journal:

I don't have anything up for traditional yet... although if that's what you wanted, we could discuss it over a note or something. c:

Aww! You gave up? ;__; I heard art foundation was pretty tough, but after that it gets a lot better. (I'm not in an illustration major, or my hands might fall off lol). <3
Thank you! Try applying the ballpoint after you lay down the copic... otherwise it will smear. Microns actually shouldn't smear, although you might have to wait a bit before it's completely dry depending on the paper you use. XD

I gave up before applying to the program; I before graduating high school i had a series of tragic events hit-i failed AP studio and have been trying to get back into the swing of things since 2006. My last semester of Germanna involved two back to back studio courses and an art history class and while i did well in both *painting is not my forte at all* I've completely forgotten too much to even consider trying to put together a portfolio. Can't shade, can't do landscape-it's a mess. Currently trying to work towards a history major since it's the only other thing that i'm remotely good at.
I haven't had an issue with Microns smearing-mostly ballpoint. I'm a marker noob and my Trias don't seem to like ball point at all. Can't seem to find a happy medium with pencil either as that gets smeared about as well, and i'm not confident enough at all to try just going with straight pen. Haven't tried my markers on cotton rag though, currently playing with an 8x8 Stonehenge pad. Will see what happens!

Aww! Jeez, that sounds rough. D: High school can be filled with problems sometimes.
You know, believe it or not I failed my AP studio exams in HS as well... and got a C in my class. I actually did REALLY awful, and it was only when I failed that exam that I realized I had to buckle down and practice. I graduated in 2006, and then went to community college until last Fall, when I started VCU. (A lot of my old stuff is in my deviantArt gallery... I joined here well after that awkward time, lol)
Looking at your gallery, you're pretty confident with anatomy... which a lot of times, is the most important part. Technique is more easily learned than anatomy, IMO. ;) Why not look into the design program at VCU (or even taking some art refreshment courses)? It's more being creative rather than actually painting, which is why I'm attending school here. If you ever were interested in the design track, I could give you the name/info of my advisor and you could look into it more?
History is a fantastic major, too... I always admire people who can remember all that stuff so easily. D8
But yes~ Practice on everything and see what combo works for you. It'll eventually work! I had to play around with my Copics for awhile, since I didn't realize I could... use... colored pencil on top for the longest time. XD

I rather think that my parents might string me up if I tried changing my major right now; Struggling a bit in classes, first semester here and it's definitely not as lax as community college-need to make sure I pass before I consider it. Unless I can pick up a great deal of financial aid I think it'd probably be best if I stick to with what I've been planning on, which is History major/english Minor. I can always pick up art again as a focus later on-but I'd like to have something stable to work with first job wise. I'm also still dealing with just...massive 4 year artblock...back in the day I could draw 4-5 things at a time. Now I'm lucky if i draw and finish one thing a month. I do appreciate the offer very much though.
Depending on how long Sona participation takes, I may yet get to try it out! We shall see how it goes!

Thank you! I guess as Pokemon they really don't have any personalities... but when you play the game, I guess you can make up how they act however you want. ;)
And thanks for the offer! When I have the time and am a little more confident with my traditional style, I'll be open for trades. c:

Lol... thanks! ;w;
By confident I mean like... I don't think my traditional style is perfectly consistent, I'm slow, and I haven't tried things like backgrounds, humans, non-scaly/feathery things, etc. XD (And these are all things that'll *hopefully* be ironed out in the future.)

Awww~ Thanks! XD
I was thinking about it... although from the cost of materials and time it takes me, it'd probably cost as much as one of my conbadges (even though it's a bit smaller). XD I'm not sure if people would be into paying $30-ish for such a tiny piece of artwork.
They are fun, though. ;) Maybe I can offer discounted practice commissions at first (so people know I'm still learning the media), along with a few trade slots or something. |D Maybe~

Always pictured Luga as something of a cross between a dragon and bird.
As for the way Ho-oh is drawn in the games and cartoon, looks more like a vulture (at least to me) I always say Ho-oh more like an eagle in it's head like a Phoenix.
I Do not mean to disrespect your artwork, they are very lovely and you Drew Ho-oh very similar to how I expected Ho-oh to look if drawn in a semi realistically way.
I Love this picture and Hope in the Future you might consider drawing the rest of the legendaries.

Oh wow, these are amazing! I love the colours and detail, especially on Ho oh, and how the feathers behind fan out in a sort of sun shape. Also, you're easily "good enough" to do trades with people, damn XD
You say in the description that they're 2.5x3, is that a typo? ATCs/ACEOs are 2.5x3.5 (and I only know that because of getting into drawing them myself recently) :)

Thank you very much~! ;w;
I guess I just always feel better about trades when I'm 100% sure I have a consistant style going on... and if you've only done something twice, you gotta work out any weirdness you might run into ahead of times. ;) Otherwise I feel bad if I screw up, lol.
Oh! And it is totally a typo. o_o I re-measured mine and I cut them out correctly... just forgot to write down the sizes right. Thanks! c:
