Not so much blackmail with magic, but blackmail to keep him from revealing they have magic as it appears others there who had it no longer do. The interesting question is, "Why?" What canceled out the magic for all these others?

Puts me in mind of a story by Larry Niven, "The Magic Goes Away." In it, Niven postulates that there is only so much power, or mana, in any given area that people can use to perform magic. And once that power is used up, no more magic may be performed there. The idea was "proven" by a cascading spell that reinforced itself like feedback in a PA system, pulling more and more magic into it until it totally consumed all of the mana in the area. At that point the spell dissipated, as there was no more mana to support it. Needless to say, it soon became forbidden to cast that spell. Heh!

i wasn't really thinking about what got rid of their magic i just wait these things out to see if the writer explains it later on, but that is an interesting theory i'll have to keep that in mind

This is possibly one of the most complete fantasy settings I've read in a while. It seems most of the disposition is in dialogue, making the world seem more believable. Kudos.
On a side note: are we going to see any yiffing soon, or will we have to wait until Jax is recovered?

Why thank you, tater. I worked hard to flesh out a world before I started writing; some of this stuff has been brewing for years, waiting for the right moment to get out on the page. And I've always been a fan of letting your characters get to the world-building on their own, rather than just pumping it into the narration.

I think we're starting to see a little bit of the main story here. The village of Varagan has lost its magic, together with the rest of this fictional world as it seems. The magic is disappearing and its up to our team of heroes to find out way. ^^
And I like Flots. He seems energetic, persistent and funny. I think hell be a valuable addition to the set of main characters.

Actually, they mention that Varagan was destroyed long ago. Where you thinking the town were they found Flots was the same place?

Flots actually started with a suggestion from , probably because I don't have enough otters in my work! :D

I meant the aqueduct. I just remembered a village or something of the like but as I didnt remember any exact name I just checked for a name at the beginning of the story. Hence the mistake.

And yeah the comments have been, well, delayed to say the least. I try to log in from time to time, and when I do I make sure to post you some comments, but ive been having problems with my router lately. So the only times I can actually log into furaffinity is when im at the university and they have furaffinity blocked of some reason O.o

Anyway I got the reviews done for the last two adept Paws chapters. And Ill get one reading the new chapter right now :)
