My entry for Creature of the Week over at conceptart.org. The theme was to take a scary-looking movie monster and redesign it to be beautiful. The monster I chose was Sammael from the movie Hellboy. The original Sammael looks like this.

Beautifully done indeed.

I loved the Sammael hellhounds. The costuming was absolutely stunning, and their tentacles were genius. ^..^

For some reason this so reminds me of Final Fantasy 10.

I want to cast him in Bronze and have him sit on my porch.

I thought it looked like Sammael, but I couldn't be sure. I like how you very much left the base design alone and didn't redesign him to be totally unrecognizable. Very nicely done.

Quite the change. I definitly prefer this version. The way he looks here, I think he would look fitting perched on some Mayan or Incan temple. }:=)

An impressive makeover! ...although I have to say that I thought that movie-Sammael was Quite The Splendid Beast. I like that you kept the tentacles and eyes in your version. Very nice pose and angle, too -- very regal. I agree with the "temple guardian" remark.
