Once again, I managed to get to work on something. Brand new animation sequence, building up on the experience gathered from the previous one. The individual shots are longer and not cut so abruptly.
I had the motion sequence itself ready since a few days, but before presenting anything I wanted to know whether I'll be able to add properly looking hairflow. It seems possible now (not included in this WIP!); it stays troublesome and error-prone, but again, previous experience allowed me to narrow down some promising parameters.
If all goes well, there may be some actual background in the final version.

It's true, Majka's hair and tail need a little work, but the work is still in development. The difference between a sketch and the Mona Lisa, or a pencil test and a finished animation.
Her first gesture, the knuckle to elbow/knuckle to chin, reminds me of a certain famous American comedian.

This is not even properly rendered here, just an animated export of what I'm seeing in the program's workspace - minus any controls and overlays, of course. It showcases the sequence of motions as it is, but not much more. I want to hold off for longer with any rendered WIPs this time, not to ruin the surprise.
Be assured though, things are coming together nicely. The hairflow is troublesome as always, we'll have to live with some imperfections. But that's the nature of the beast, hopefully the developers will be able to fix this messy system this year as they had promised.
Again, I want to see if I can add some convincing outdoors environment to the animation, but without spending too much effort on it (few days at most). So this remains an open question for the moment, I'll check it right after I'm done with the hair.
A fine comedy sketch there! It's always nice when people can connect my works to something else they've seen already, this makes these furry inventions of mine feel more grounded in the existing cultural environment.
