Yup. This is shaping up like a fine, French, comic album. I think the term Bande dessinee applies here. I can imagine sitting in my high backed reading chair, on a rainy afternoon reading this story on glossy pages, held within hardbacked covers. If you crowd funded the printing of this, I’d pay.

This set up between these two feels like a quest set up. Looking forward to this!

Sometimes I also imagine I'm holding this or any of my comic in my hand. It would be really a great feeling, a next step, and achivement. :) Still have other priorities. I hope I don't need to push aside the comic print for too long.

Yeah, a crowd funding sounds a great idea too, I feel I have a few great possibilties for printing. I feel it's just about I want to do that when the time is more better for that. Today, I have a couple of finished projects to make something out of, so I'm glad it doesn't depend on that anymore. X)

Exactly. You have finished, long form stories. Each of those could be crowd funded into books, provided you talk to printers and fulfillment companies and get the business side of this in order, and so you know what the fees, and scale will be necessary. Indiegogo handles comics far better now than Kickstarter, as the former can handle orders past the cut off date. When the time is right, do the research, but for now concentrate on the story.

oh my god, she grew into such BABY. you can see the clear divide between growing up with her in person and growing up acknowledging her as the "deer mother of us all" and it's kind of adorkable. 10/10.

I absolutely adore the expressions you draw. That look of utter glee in the first panel makes me want to squeeze the stuffing out of her and that sour look on the guy just makes his cheeks look SO squishable

For me, it's the eyes. Something about the way they are done that just draws me in.

The eyes definitely help. She also seems ot make the faces just rubbery enough to get good expressiveness without making them look ridiculous

Agreed. The expressions seem so, well, natural. It's hard to put it exactly into words without sounding silly.

You both describe it perfectly. There is a allowance of *freedom* cartoons get that hyper-realism cannot without putting it into uncanny valley. An extra streach for expression and movement even without going into *accordion shapes etc* that will always give toons a better readable emote that life can't.

However she has a wonder hold on this concept.

Mixing the cartoonish style and realistic things is always fascinated me, I love it! And the eyes, mouths and hands are one of my biggest favorites in the whole formula. And you're right, a cartoonish style is great to "boost" the movements and expressions if you know the basics like what that emotion or feeling is about that you want to show with a character. ^^

Where it's needed I always use references or I always ask myself the big question: Is what I see natural enough? I always have super fun with that.

I feel like I need to improve the technical parts and the anatomy to make my style even "rounder" so to say. It’s not the really balanced yet, but I always manage to do what I'd like to show which is nice.

Your work and comics bring a peace, and joy to an otherwise hectic life. I adore your work since the first time i saw it, ans just you and your outlook on life from what I have seen. You always see the light even in the darkest times. And having lived through that it is so unique to be able to see that.
