Patreon Activity - April 2020
Notice something different about this summary compared to all previous ones?
Color! And LOTS of it and not the black paper variety either! Yes, April was a month with a heavy push for colored art. It is something I see is holding me back from doing well like my friends’ galleries.
But colored pencil is a very punishing media for me to use. I can only safely do 3 hour of that per day or it really hurts my hand and I also learned I can’t do that for days on end or I do hurt my back. Still, I’ll do what I can to bring more brilliant color to my gallery! ^.^
“Impending Norfair”, the center picture in this, was my first completed digital painting in nearly 2 years. With roughly 20 hours that went into it, it is likely to be the “Big One” of the year. I am hesitant to say it will be the only one. I have a sneaky suspicion there will be more large projects of similar scale.
Obviously, with a picture that took that long and how I charge an hourly rate on commissions, I consider that a very unmarketable media even though the exceptional quality does justify it. That leaves the media as a Patreon supported project to be one of the only viable options for it if I wanted to do more.
