Mother nature plays cruel tricks on the vagrants of the jungle. In the same sanctuary she leaves grub, water, and shelter, she too leaves pitfalls, stones, and dark drops. Her laughs are in the echoing cries of the hapless lost soul, and her jeers are in the yelps of the fighting spirit. Yet she teaches - she always teaches - the wild teachings of a miserly lady. Her children are many, but her expectations are few.
Another commission from
shack, this time a half-body coloured commission. I asked for this theme both because of the treacherous nature of the Mesoamerican rainforests, as well as the little metaphors you could read from it. I highly suggest you check out the original here, as well as looking at the rest of Shack's gallery. They really make some incredible pieces, and it is a shame not more people know it!
He's trying to get out of a pit. He's climbed out from the depths, but at the edge his rear paws don't have a grip. It must be a scary place to be, half-stuck in a whole in a place you half-call your home.
