I generally find it to be kind of a cop-out when a franchise decides to dip into "extra dimensions" to draw story from. I mean, it's basically saying that "we've ran out of ideas, so we're just gonna make up this other universe to pull things from to make things interesting. I mean, honestly, most that seem to do this sort of thing HAVE more to work with, they just don't seem to explore it.
Well...we've only seen like one Ultra Beast...
I know, but the concept still bugs me....
Well...the franchise did start with one who had the DNA of every Pokemon...then manipulators of time...then that whole 'god' thing...
Maybe that's it. They keep upping the ante on their "legendary/mythical" types. I mean, they introduced Arceus early and...really...CAN you beat THAT? Guess if you pulled things from other dimensions, I guess so.
That sounds like it's gonna exhaust quick....oooooohhh...THAT'S why they did the Dynamax thing...
Yep...they went with a different dimension....then they took something from a WAY different 'dimension' to up the ante.
Monster catching franchises are a tough business...
Yeeeep. But, you know, lets just put that whole 'Ultra Beast Wormholes' thing on hold for now and continue with the whole Island Challenge thing....
Wha? But that seems like a really big prob---
Nope nope nope. It'll come up later for something big and bad I'm sure, but right now, we gotta focus on that next island!
But if more wormholes start---

Well there aren't many other ultra wormholes at the time, that one was presumably caused by Nebby's teleport at the beginning of the game; it's only in the climax that the others open up...though it is odd that it never comes up until the post game, but I guess one explanation would be that the Island Kahunas and Guardian Deities were able to hold them off in the meantime.
