I beat my face against this thing for a million... units of measure. I dunno, something about using a ruler causes my brain to shut down.

from Stephen King's "Cycle of the Werewolf." I was first introduced to that book when I was like, 9, and I would sit and stare at the pictures forever. Loved it. So this is like an homage to that book, or that illustrator or something, as it first got me into werewolves and horror - things I have enjoyed for the majority of my lifetime.
Now to color the damn thing.
Graphite.

I was hoping you wouldn't have put the Cycle of the Werewolf reference in there and see if anyone caught- cause it's completely reminiscent of the picture!
CotW was one of my first (and favorite) werewolf books- the artwork was great, and the vignettes were fantastic [especially February ;)] I found a hard-cover version of it signed by King years ago at a bookstore- it was going for well over $500. Popular story, indeed!

I like how bristly they are....really brings out the rage factor. We're out in the country with several dogs and they always get bristled up when the coyotes are near.
The visible pupils on the front one are good too...gives it more of a focus than the blank, glowing eyes, I think.

Now that's a great image. A long time ago I drew up a comic about Mr. Foxy's College Days where he had werewolf frat house mates. Foxy beat back his agressor with a rolled up newspaper of course. I imagine these guys would be yelling out "I smell Pizza... I smell Beer..."
Don't get me wrong. This is a positively frightfully good image.
