If you saw someone shoot, you would probably look at the victim first and think that everything had been planned by the killer, instead of looking at the malfunctioning gun that the "attacker" was holding and with which he accidentally fired.
In the same way those wolves thought that the guy's aim was bad and not that it was due to the broken bow.

Something tells me those laughing wolves sabotaged his bow. Normally, bows that are handcrafted, are meant to be hard yet flexible. If the limb starts to crack, then it could have been sawed a bit, not noticed if it was a short but critical cut. Also I saw the targets, not one of them hit the epicenter. I say Cobb deserves a do over!
