The misty morning left moisture in the air and a thin fog throughout the low valleys. A soft breeze and the chirping of early birds shifted throughout the hillside as an intrepid lass strode the path up the incline, stopping to gaze into the surrounding beauty. Laura felt at home on the hillsides flanking her small town, a mere set piece to the majesty of green hills and trickling streams. With her she carried a basket for the picking of flowers and her early morning meal as she continued upwards, unfazed by the steepness as she was a natural master of such terrain. Not many would be willing to brave the rocky slopes, certainly not so early in the morning, but for Laura it was another beautiful day. Of course she'd have as much ease descending for when it was time for work, but she wouldn't let that stop her from living in the moment. Often she daydreamed of pitting herself on more treacherous climbs, recalling how her favorite hill had seemed insurmountable when she was smaller. But she was a big girl, and it would take a lot more than a stone face to curb her enthusiasm for adventure.
