Sulfur and Sophia
A story into Sulfurs background, hope you enjoy it ^^
START
The day faded to the evening where Sulfur lost the fight against one of the teachers to test his magic, he moved back to his camping site three miles away from the school knowing he would not be sought after by anyoneone. Sulfur had a pile of sticks and some dried leaves and grass sitting in the center of the site, he felt the warmth from his hand and watched as the fire started small and grew to fit his palm. Tossing it into the pile he sat on a stump of a tree that had been cut down long ago, the larger, still in tack tree had a small thick branch closer to the ground where he hung his belt and armor strapped shoulder guard. His long sword was embedded into the ground at the base of the tree below his belt and armor, Closing his eyes he tried to concentrate on the environment around him. The sound of the steady stream allowed him to calm himself down so he felt relaxed, The wind was lightly blowing through the trees around him. He sighed at the thought of his dearest teacher and mentor Sophia
“I miss you, It is best if I stay away from the school” Sulfur whispered to himself
As the night sky grew darker he was on his knees meditating in front of his fire, the evening was quite and a sudden sound of branches snapping under boots echoed around him
“Well well well, what do we have here boys, A lost little dragon” a female human spoke
Sulfur heard the footsteps of around six figures around him
The man that approached from behind him laughed “this one doesn’t even have wings, he should fetch for a nice price if we keep his hide in tact”
He opened his eyes and saw a female human wearing fur armor standing in front of him, looking around he saw two men looking over his sword and armor; one man behind him, and the last two men standing in the back with bows in hand. Sulfur thought to himself while looking at the archers “They will do”
His eyes flashed a lime green as they stared at him and he knew he had them, he made quick simple thoughts “the two by my gear” and the archers let their arrow fly at the unaware bandits having the arrows find their marks and killing both instantly; that left four in total. He thought, “now the one behind me” before the archers let loose two more arrows at the one man; once his corpse hit the ground he hear the leader turn to them in shock and shout
“WHAT ARE YOU IDIOTS DOING!!?”
His last thought was “Now yourselves” and as she drew her battleaxe they drew their daggers and slit their own throats and drop gagging to the ground. The leader didn’t understand what was going on and watched this all unfold in front of her
“A simple spell I learned from my mentor, useful for situations like that” Sulfur said
“She looked back to him only to feel something slash across her throat, she reached and held her neck to feel warm blood flowing down it and saw as his sword circled around them as it soon came to rest on the side of its master, her eyes were wide with horror and fell to her knees. She thought she was about to die when she felt the blood stop
“Now you are not allowed to die just yet, understand something human, I have mastered the arts of blood magic and necromancy… so you are going to answer a few questions for me before I send you to the other world”
She stared at him with tears rolling down her eyes, unable to say anything
Sulfur stood up showing his size, she watched a green magic flow around his hand and felt herself get lifted into the air “Who sent you here” Sulfur asked
She spoke in a gurgled voice “The queen… of the south”
“Did anyone else come here with you?” he asked in a stern face
She gurgled again “No”
Sulfur nodded “Thank you, I release you”
And like that, she fell to the dirt dead
He looked around the site and waved his hand in a lifting motion, all the corpses lifted into the air and dropped in a pile near the river where he then used the same motion to soak the bodies. Swiping his arm from left to right and having his fingers spread he watched as the water froze them solid
“Rather them not rot around this area” he spoke softly
He then looked over to his stump to see two dragons standing there, A golden younger dragon and a silver older dragon. He recognized the older dragon and the teached he faced in the school training grounds, He saw as they were both speechless and wide eyed as he moved to sit down
“How much of that did you see?” Sulfur asked them
The silver dragon stepped forwards “We saw everything, you never mentioned you can use necromancy and blood magic, not to mention ice and fire!!”
The gold scaled dragon stepped beside his teacher “Sulfur, you purposely lost the fight didn't you?”
Sulfur nodded but spoke nothing, The teacher walked closer to him and picked up his blade
“What spell did you use to command this blade?”
Sulfur looked to the fire “It wasn’t a spell, the blade is enchanted to respond to me when I think a command for it to do”
“Sulfur, I am sorry but because you did demonstrate your real power you are now obligated to return to the school for more training… council rules” The silver dragon exclaimed
Sulfur looked over to him and gave a deep sigh “I was hoping I was far enough out you would not come after me”
“You were, but Solaxus is quite the tracker” the teacher spoke
“Pack your things, you come with us tonight” he said while handing him his blade
The next morning Sulfur walked back onto the grounds where all the other teachers were, they all were standing outside in front of the gate and the red dragon took a step forwards
“Solaxus, Mithar, why did you leave the castle last-” and stopped when they all saw Sulfur
“You bring that failed dragon back here?”
Mithar gave a growl “I did, because I witnessed how powerful he really is”
The other dragons looked at each other before looking to him again
“What do you mean?” A white dragon spoke
“He lost the fight against me on purpose, if he truly wanted to win, all he had to do was look in my eyes, I am bringing him to the tower where he can have his solitude per his agreement” Mithar grunted before looking back to Sulfur
Three years had passed and Sulfur stood over the balcony dressed in his armor with his blade at his side, the wind carrying a cool breeze as he looked over the deadwood forest and sighed
“I truly do miss you Sophia, I wish you were here” Sulfur spoke with a bit of sadness in his voice
“Then perhaps I should stay here with you” a female voice spoke
Sulfur watched as a beautiful purple dragon had landed on the balcony where he stood, he was a bit shocked and gave a smile before putting his hand on her nose
“You will need to take your anthro form, would make it allot easier to hold you close” he spoke before leaning in to rub her snout with his own
She crawled into the tower and laughed “No need my student, These were once my quarters and I made it large enough to fit my feral form, now, how about we continue your training on metal manipulation”
“I would rather enjoy that, but I think a nice warm bath would be better for us both” he said softly
She gave a nod and shrunk down to her anthro form which mimicked his form but in a more female version “I would like that a bit more”
