Sep 29, 2042, Day 9-

Had my doctor’s appointment today. They did the standard measurements and whatnot. Turns out Dave is right, I have lost weight. I now only weigh 228 pounds. It’s actually rather unsettling to think that I’ve lost almost thirty-five pounds in only a week. Definitely a very terrifying prospect. I’ve also lost a couple of inches, which is also concerning.

The doctor didn’t look all too optimistic when I explained my case. The growth above my butt has grown to almost the length of my thumb and I almost could swear I can feel it move every now and then. Definitely makes sitting down a bit more uncomfortable. Given the symptoms he didn’t think that it sounded like it would be cancer as he cannot think of any cancer that would behave in such a very regular manner. Even tumors tend to be more amorphous blobs than moving in one direction. But had me take some x-rays and took my blood and would run some tests and get back to me in a few days.

So now I have to go to work and try to be calm and act normally until I go back on Thursday. All the while knowing that he doesn’t think it’s cancer and I have lost thirty-five pounds with no change in my diet or activity. And to put on a brave face and to hope beyond hope that this is something treatable or temporary at best.
