Yellow Coon Partial Fursuit
I had
Katmaxis visit last week and I decided this was an ideal time to build her a partial fursuit of her very own as a present. If she likes wearing this, then I can go back and make a full body suit to go with the parts I buitl.
This suit took all of four days to do. I could have done it in three, Ithink, but I did goof off a lot, so.....
This is the first foam only head I've ever done. That took a bit to figure out initially as i build in wire and plastic canvas typically. I can see some pros and cons to this. It's much tighter fitting, but it's also warmer. It's quicker than wire and canvas, but more expensive in foam. Both methods are the same once the basic shape is in place.
The tail is poly fill, and the footpaws are laminated foam. The arms/handpaws are sewn to a pattern I use for full suits so they can be later used in a full suit if that is desired.
Total cost was about $200 for all the various bits and pieces. I had a lot of the materials already in my supplies, so that price is what you could expect to pay out of pocket for everything. I don't know what it would cost if you asked someone to build this for you. The time involved would make it more expensive than worth doing for anyone but yourself really.
I liked the result of this one. I wanted to try a bright color and I saw that lemon yellow fur at Hancocks and..... there we go. Now I want to do something in blue. :)
