Haha, I was wondering from the last comic....
Virmir's body tends to go through pretty much every type of transformation you can imagine, but his mind? While it can be influenced for short periods of time, long term control/hypnosis barely ever takes.
My theory is that yet again, Virmir's ego is too massive for any one spell to contain.
