So this Ethan is from the Domain Kingdom. Most receive armor like this once you join the military. This is the story from a DnD campaign.
The kingdom is ruled by 2 kings.
1st King is a Golden Dragon who invested all his treasure into the Kingdom and books of knowledge to form a Library, Which he rules the kingdoms Financial structure.
2nd King is the ruler of the people which is often chosen by the Military leader's children. They need to be honorable and are magically incapable of telling lies. The chosen king can be a regular civilian to help the civilians more than the military means.

There are two lifestyles. Civilian and Military
Civilian, you are the soul of the country that keeps it running and functioning, you are a treasure to the country that will do whatever it takes to protect you from certain harm. Farmers, Crafters, Diggers, Builders, Designers, Scripters, Teachers, Laborers, and Trainers e.t.c. are jobs in civilian life.
Military life is a chosen path that Civilians can decide on joining. In military life, you are to work in jobs maintaining equipment, guarding the Golden Dragon King artifacts, to being a Foot soldier or Wyvern rider. When climbing the ranks you gain better privileges and can receive the title of Noble.
Once you reach Lieutenant you are a noble. and once you reach General you are an Elite Noble which there are 15 families that are in the Elite. Most that reach Elite often marry into the top 15 families.
