Aiyah! You definitely grew since the days when I met you in deviantArt! You kept your feeling of atmosphere, but you also grew in detail. The mane and scales now look cleanly shiny! The whole atmophere is lively!

What a fabulous character design! I love everything about this! Especially since I was writing a blog post entry yesterday and figured out a way to make an entirely golden landscape. This beastie would fit right in there!

Makes me think of the MtG setting where everything in the world was made of metal - sounds cool!

I was thinking of nacre - you can get that in 'white' (well, the standard neutral pearl colour), that amazing greenish-rainbow mother of pearl mosaic, and if you look around, there are oddball pearl colours that naturally occur, a few delicate pinks and this really warm gold. Apparently those aren't outliers, at least as far as golden pearls go - there are certain locations where pearl-producing bivalves will make golden nacre. Or maybe it's certain subspecies that only occur in those locations, I'm not sure.

But since nacre is something molluscs produce to protect themselves from parasites and grit and things (kind of like humans do with mucus, I suppose), is it impossible that a whole population would get the mollusc equivalent of a cold or a sneeze attack, and massively over-produce nacre? I'm thinking this is plausible enough to cover the rocks the molluscs live on.

But yeah - sorry for worldbuilding at you! :D I'll let you get on with your day!

Perhaps for your worldbuilding, they are "beavers" or "coral" of bivalves, and use the grit and such that eventually form pearls, and instead expel it as a kind of mucus, which it then shapes, and it hardens? Could be super beautiful!
