That's me up in the conning tower of the USS George H.W. Bush looking important. I was quoted as saying "Helmsman, make turns for 25 Knots." Which is preposterous as we were in air con and not the bridge.
I tried to get to the bridge, but they have this odd policy against random people going in there and touching their stuff. Namely that they shoot you for doing it. So here I am posing for what turned out to be a remarkably good photo.

Wow, that's cold. "Bye honey, we're going off to have a pleasure cruise on a multi-billion dollar war machine, have fun at home!" Sounds like something Timmy Turner's Parents would pull on him. (That show is still on, right? Am I old now?)
I brought my entire family on for visitor's day, to include my sister's boyfriend and one of my grandmothers. Everyone had a blast. I couldn't show them anything I do because there were armed guards posted around everywhere that I work for some reason. <_< They got to watch all the cool flight ops and stuff that I have nothing to do with though, and managed to snap this totally freaking wizard picture. (Do people still say 'wizard'? Yeah, I thought not. Being out to sea for long periods gets me way behind.)
Hope you get a chance to see the ship for yourself soon.
