Pay no mind to the Pokemon hanging out in the back calling for medics, they're totally on the up and up.
Also THEY'RE THE SAME! IT'S THE SAME THING! IT'S GONNA BE THE SAME GAME!
Or at least that's what I'm afraid of. *ahem* Cute designs though.

Indeed, you'll be a boy/girl who lives in a small town who's name is representative of the regions' theme for town-names as a whole, and you'll get one of three Pokémon from a professor who also lives there, and a Pokegear from your mom, and set out to get 8 gym badges while constantly thwarting well-known crime syndicate Team [x], and occasionally having friendly duels with your rival/best friend, the boy/girl you didn't pick. As soon as you leave town the first time, you'll be immediately greeted by legions of [Useless, common rodent X] and [Useless, common bird Y] but it makes it all worth it when you have a showdown with the Legendary Beast on the cover (And use your one and only Master Ball.) It'll all build up until you beat four elite trainers and have a final battle with that one strong NPC who helped you beat Team [x] earlier.
D:< Graedius did you steal that information from deep within the Nintendo data base network? Because that's the only way you could have possibly figured out this new games super secret plot.
Honestly I hope they prove me wrong, because I would LOVE to buy the new pokemon game. But I can't spend any more money on them if it's just fluff.

Indeed, they could take it in all sorts of cool places if they tried~ How about letting you join Team Rocket, making the story's goal to overthrow the leader and become the ring leader yourself! What about having world-saving being the actual point of the game, not the badge-gettings? How about being a 54-year-old biker who just got out of prison, framed by Team Rocket and has just a Charmeleon and nothing to lose? Character customization, maybe the availability of numerous stories/primary goals to accomplish, letting you choose? (Get the badges, be a Pokemon master, destroy Team Rocket, overthrow and rule Team Rocket, etc.)
I think you should start off shamed and penniless having been refused member ship at a local gym. So you set out to build your own. You find and recruit other trainers, and then by battling against each other and seeking out rare and powerful pokemon, build your ranks to be one of the greatest gyms in your region. Every now and again trainers come to earn a badge from you and your reputation increases for every win you get, and sometimes powerful trainers will want to join you after seeing your gym in action!
The real action would be taking on rival gyms. When you defend your gym, you set it up like a tower defense game, setting up the various puzzle traps and pokemon trainers as road blocks to rival gym members. When you attack you have to command your gym members and infiltrate your enemy's gym fraught with their own traps and powerful trainers until you take out their leader!
In addition there could be tactical battles, using each gym member as a unit and each of their pokemon like a weapon, they would have to do various tasks for the village they live. Successfully completing these tasks would raise town moral and the towns people will reduce charges for merchandise and give you gifts and ask you to raise their super awesome pokemon.
Man this is a really good idea. D:< Your WELCOME Nintendo!

Ahaha
They are super adorable, but this is why I stopped after Red/Blue and however much of Yellow. It's just the same journey every time. People still going through towers and the elite four... The first adventure was fun and awesome, I don't wanna have to keep repeating it, so I just didn't play anymore.
But damn they are really cute, at least those three are.

Yeah, I used to be a fan of the game, but once I realized that every game they make is simply going to be a clone of the first game with different character and pokemon designs slapped over the old ones, I just decided to pan the rest of their games. It's just a shame because they had such potential, and I wonder if they even realize what they're doing wrong. I suppose technically nothing, considering how much money they make.
