Pokemon Usael- Setup Introduction
For starters, if someone can think of a better name for this instead I'll go with that. I'm not really set on the title. But I figured Pokemon + random vowel/consonant word is better than just Pokemon Comic.
Anyway, as mentioned in This Journal Entry, starting next year I'm going to go full on pokemon comic periodically. These are going to be mostly quick, no effort comics where I give myself like 20 minutes each day to draw one panel. Ideally, I want to use this to get me more into the habit of drawing, which will help in all my drawing and allow for more than just drawing Diary on Saturday and day of drawing on Sunday.
Anyway, the core tenant of this comic is that it's designed with audience participation in mind. As such, I can't really plot ahead anything beyond what would happen regardless of what the characters do. I've already figured out a lot of how I'm going to approach things (roll based as you can see). Figure by the end of the year I'll have established everything about how the comic is going to be run, the mechanics I will be using and then start on character bios. That said, the more characters I get the better. Like if this ends up taking off into its own thing way beyond me (either collab project, massive multi artist project, or gets adapted to a more tabletop type thing), then that'd be awesome, but barring that I'll just keep at it as long as I can keep myself motivated.
One of the biggest things I need to know for now is how readable is this thing right now? I originally had the idea of helping to differentiate characters by color coordination, making it easier to tell who is who and who is saying what. But if it doesn't work i can change it easily enough. But I'm planning on doing 2 of these a week the rest of this year (wed and normally Sat) and then 3 next year (Mon, Wed, Sat). Anyway, let me know what y'all think.
