After watching The Emperor's New Groove and The Princess And The Frog a buncha times, and then Brother Bear again recently, I was inspired to write my own TF story in that vein. So here's chapter 1 of Harvey The Hawk.
See, there's this guy named Harvey who lives in a mountain resort town, and the place is kept clean by a magic spell. But when the spell wears off, Harvey's gotta go find the magic man who cast it. When he does, the guy turns him into a hawk. This is part of the plan for some reason.

Ahh, there's too much fun stuff to comment on.
I don't think I've ever seen somebody write a character that is constantly changing form like the shaman. It adds another point of interest to an already interesting dialogue. Neat.
Interesting bit about the crows. I'm guessing they were making warning cries each time they saw the hawk do something. I wonder what they made of the weird-acting hawk. From a naive perspective, most would just think him injured. You know, until he screams "SHUT UP" in which case oh magic hoo boy.

I figure the shaman changes form several times over the course of a day, but not nearly as often when he's alone (and he does it for utilitarian purposes) as when he's talking to somebody (and he does it for effect).
I read on Wikipedia that hawks are often harassed by crows, so I figure they're the bullies of the forest. :}
