That could have been more ominous if the ranger there were an American Badger instead of a European one.
I keep remembering that one bit of memeish info floating around where they describe the aesthetics of the two as something to the effect...
"The European Badger looks like he's going to invite you to tea in his tidy den while the American Badger looks like he's going to rob you in a dark alley to support his meth habit"

I Googled "European badger vs. American badger" and got a few photos comparing the two. One of the photos had someone making a similar comment, "I can't ever get over how European Badgers look like they're gonna invite you over to their country cottage for tea and biscuits while the North American badger looks like he's gonna invite you into a back alley for a curb stomping." LOL, I'm glad my American badger character, Wanda Anaguma, isn't quite that mean.
