I think it's also a big part of how you present it. As long as you make it clear it won't impact others they can be surprisingly indifferent. With me I am not really allowed to talk about it. I don't really hide it but I can't really embrace it either around my family.

I have some doubts about that. Especially the job loss one. Most bosses aren't really all that interested in that kind of stuff. They pay you to do a job and as long as you do that job effectively they don't really care what's going on in your life outside of that.
When I revealed it to my family they were all like "So what? You aren't trying to involve us right?" They don't want me to involve them into it but as long as I don't they don't really care.
In my experience people are too selfish to really care about such things. As long as what you're doing doesn't impact them in some way they don't really care what you do.

When I said it the whole pedophile connection was not even made. My mom theorized I was trying to overcompensate for my weirdness.

when I told my mom she reacted so neutrally I asked her why she didn't think it a problem. She answered "Why would I? I mean you're not going to be financially irresponsible with it or anything like that right? What you do behind closed doors is no business of mine."

heres what i noticed what star forgot:
panel 3 & 4: the pacifier (she closed the drawer, look at the bedsheet position, its at the top of the bed, you can clearly make out the drawer she dumped everything in is also at the top due to the position of the bedsheet, yeah, ya cant fool me i have very good awareness when it comes to this stuff!)
not to mention she forgot something rather noisey (and crinkly)
