As Luna ate the xol ball she grew 10x faster than birch ever did, also when Luna grows her tail got really big and heavy so birch has to let the tail go. Once birch let go of luna's tail, birch cried and wanted to be huge to, and so Luna had an idea and boop birches nose with her noose to channel a fragment of the xol ball energy.
