I AWLAYS choose water type starters when I play any Pokémon game...EXCEPT for Charizard for the Kanto region games, because he's just too awesome. He's very powerful and has good speed stats compared to Blastoise.
Other than that, I choose water types because the only thing super-effect against them is water and electric (Just those 2, where fire is weak against at least 3, and grass is like weak against...like EVERYTHING XD...flying, fire, poison, ice, bug, and maybe psychic, too, if they're part poison themselves).
But yeah I seriously will choose this one when Pokémon Black & White come out next year.
