My best guess on this big girl is Hogna lenta. I at least think I have the genus right.
She's a good deal bigger than the usual wolf spider I find.
She is unfortunately missing a leg.

She looks very similar to what I have known as the North American Wandering Spider from markings and eye pattern... I do hope I havent been mis-IDing for years >.=.< I would have a lot of re-naming of files to do
This is what i have always known to be a wolf spider... http://i.ehow.com/images/a04/j9/v3/.....rs-800X800.jpg
the name i have known for the wolf spiders is Hogna carolinensis ... they may be in the same genus were I am just thinking and typing at the same time... ^.=.^ anyways if you have an answer me and my photo sorting system would appreciate it lol

Wandering spiders and Wolf spiders do look similar. The trick is the eye pattern.
Ctenidae (Wandering spiders): http://bugguide.net/node/view/272658/bgpage
Lycosidae (Wolf spiders): http://bugguide.net/node/view/13278
Note they both have a very distinct eye pattern.
Hogna carolinensis (Carolina Wolf Spider) is one species of wolf spider, but there are over 200 wolf spider species in North America alone.

>.=.< thx and interesting that its carolina wolf... lol should have noticed that earlier ... but funny that they are over here in the south west but i guess it figures with some other species dispersal patterns and with the big trucking routes that run through here not all that surprising...
