Upon careful study of the recordings our rangers recovered last month (archived here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/38524610/ ) local rangers have finally come forth with a summary of the most likely scenario regarding Miss Katherine's unfortunate disappearance.
The pokemon in the footage is a rare specimen referred to as "Marrowedge" by locals. They form when a Marowak fuses naturally with an Aegislash, creating a symbiotic hybrid sharing a common goal, often the protection of a fallen companion's resting place or a sacred shrine.
While most travellers are dissuaded through will'o'wisps and frightening illusions, the particularly stubborn will sometimes disappear for weeks on end. It is unclear what happens to the pokemon or human during this time, since all the unfortunate remembers afterward is a sworn promise to leave the place in peace and a feeling of being watched.
Those who intend or cause actual harm to the place Marrowedge protects are never seen again.
It is the sincere hope of local rangers that Miss Katherine will reappear someday soon. For now, travellers are discouraged from wandering too close to the area...especially at night. Be safe this Halloween, fellow trainers!
