He does some creepy things though. xD
Lately I have been sleeping out on the futon near their cage, and when I oversleep, HE STARES AT ME.
And I wake up, and I feel his stare, so I look up.
And there he is.
STARING. xD
When I oversleep, he gets annoyed, I guess, since I feed them as soon as I get up, usually. x3
I feel bad, because...you know how a dog stares at you when he wants something?
I've never had a rat do it to me, so I don't know what to do about it. xD I try taking him out and petting him for a while, but when I put him back, he keeps staring. xD
He is adorable though. He licks EVERYONE. xD When he went to the vet for stitches, one of the girls there was holding him for the day, because they can't wake a rat out of anesthetics like they can with a dog or cat, so she was just carrying him around like a baby, and he was lick-lick-licking her, constantly. xD She said he was the most affectionate rat she had ever known. x3

(adorable as always :) )
(Thank you!)
THEY ARE.
I have been trying to decide on another type of rodent to try for a pet someday...but none of them are as cool as ratties! xD
-totally not reading the other comments-
And then Mochi runs out like, "OH THANK GOD SHE'S AWAKE. FEED US"
"He died?! And this is supposed to be a kid's movie!"
And yeah, I call him "Benny Ben Ben Ben Benny Ben etc" all the time, and I just thought I was being weird, but you are so right, it so started with that movie. xD
I have the oddest nicknames for my girls xD I My youngest girl is Lucy Fur, but i call her Popsicle, and my older girl, Muffin, is often called Nugget
Also, I never got to read the response to my comment on that journal you removed and I DIDN'T KNOW THEY WERE SO SNUGGLY WITH PEOPLE, rats have gone from "meh, rodents" to "I would totally be okay with someone in my house getting one of these :o"
Honestly, of all the rodent pets there are, Rats are my favorite, and I think they should be more popular on the pet scene. Other rodents might be cuter, but rats are a lot more social with humans. My rat Mochi even knows his name, and when I call him, he comes right over, even when he is busy doing something else.
...Except when he has an itch.
I have learned that until an itch is satisfied, rats will completely ignore you. xD
I've had hamsters and rabbits, but nothing is quite like a rat, and although like I said, the lifespan is so short (2.5 years...ish), I can't find another pet that replaces them.
...And I'm sorry I deleted that journal so fast, but I think there was something wrong with me that night, and I felt really bad that I exploded in such a way. xD It was very unlike me, and I was actually worried a little bit for my sanity. o.o
The other bit was - I just think it's incredibly irresponsible to put two incompatible animals in an enclosure together. >_>; I'd think it would be common sense that if your snake didn't look like it was going to eat its live prey, you'd remove it and try again tomorrow or the day after. >_>;
My bf knows next to nothing about snakes and he thinks it's dumb to just toss a prey animal in there and forget about it ... so I'm not sure why people who should be doing research on the basic care/feeding of their pet would do that. :[ Snakes have slow enough metabolisms it's not going to kill them to not have food available 24/7, unless I'm grossly misinformed. :X
If you want to drop the live-feeding subject, though, I won't blame you. ^^;
Especially if Sir Hiss isn't feeling hungry that day. x3
I think people underestimate the potential of the rat as a predator. In the wild, a rat will eat mice, too, so a rat and a snake are almost on the same page when it comes to survival mode. x3
I have been bitten by a rat in the past -- it was my sweetheart Klaus (R.I.P), who was normally even tamer than that blob you saw in the video, Mochi, but...he had gotten his back foot caught in the top bars of the cage (he was running around on top, and the top bars have wider spacing). He was spazzing out, screaming bloody murder, and flopping around so badly, I thought for sure his leg was going to twist off. o.0 So I grabbed him by the back of the neck and tried to pull out his foot, but as I did, I got too close to his mouth, and BAM. He got me. Wouldn't let go either, but now, I thought, "Well at least his mouth is busy", and I managed to get his foot out.
Well as soon as he was free, he let go...and the bleeding began.
xD He cut me pretty deep, and I had nerve damage that lasted a few months.
And that was by a rat who LOVED ME. xD I can't imagine what a trapped rat would do to a snake, if it got the chance!
He never bites hard enough to hurt, though, so maybe he is just playing in his own way. x3
By the way, did he get his name from running fast as a car where its Bentley?
But I have been wanting a Bearded Dragon, too!!!
I can't get one just yet, but maybe someday...
They have such personality!!
Did any of the eggs hatch? xD
Of course! He is a cuuuuute ratty...
Then buy two. Your mom surely know that one mouse will be sad alone, and that's the reason of she don't wanna you took it home. (I hope you understand my joke, I'm learning all night, and so sleepy now...)
He was alone though D; All of his cage mates had been bought.
But can hope that somebody will love him! :)
On a side note, would you like a possessed hedgehog?
o.0 A possessed hedgehog?
I'd honestly love a hedgehog, even an angry one. xD
I've always wanted a hedgie, though... Dl
That's the worst part! xD
I've been giving her puppy eyes about a tree frog for a while now. xD
