I know I altered Bluth's style a little bit....Ok, a lot. xD But hopefully it looks ok. :3
Unrelated -- I've always imagined Aerith would make a good mouse.
I think that should happen.

Okay, new rule of thumb: unless it's made by Pixar, most animated sequels will suck.
*pets her* thanks for making my favorite mousie! ^.^
As for the sequel and the two books, I have seen/read them. The first book was a lot more realistic and ambiguous, I suppose would be the term. Jenner wasn't a total grade-A bunghole, there was a lot more focus put on the rat's culture and what made it tick, and the overall mood was a bit more somber: the Great Owl's discussion of his home falling apart was still a bit sad way back when. I don't remember Racso all that well, besides that it was around Jenner's son and dealt with Jenner coming to understand he'd made a mistake. I think I preferred the movie over the book, but the book's were good too. Ambiguous, not really many villainous characters, good story analyzing what sort of a culture these animals might have while not being too complex for kids.
The movie sequel deserves to burn and freeze in hell, then be stepped on by horses, trampled by pigs, slept and piddled on by rats, hit with an army of Viking axes, shot into a star, and then that star collapsed into a black hole. Okay, that may be a little extreme.
Your anger for the sequel makes me lol.
Sequels are not among my favorite things in the universe, either.
The problem with sequels is… well, there are lots of problems. Ultimately I think the problem is that a lot of sequels are made to just cash in on the original's success and don't really try to take the next step in the story/characters. That's why stuff like Toy Story 2 and Spider-Man 2 are so highly-regarded: they took what the original had done and went a few steps further while staying true to the original movie. Then you get stuff like the endless Land Before Time sequels (I liked the first two sequels, but I was a kid and stupid) or Timmy to the Rescue (grrrrrrrrrrr), and they, well, don't. So yeah.
XD Martin always made me laugh in his take charge against "Auntie" Shrew
Heh...The cruel mistress of inspiration that condones the hands to want to doodle.
Love the movie, it's a classic and must see...too bad its book had a depressing ending.
I haven't read the book, but I want to. :3
I liked uhm... the guy rat. I forget his name. >__> Justin? "JUSTIN YOU FEATHER HEAD!!!"
I thought it was hilarious how the evil rat one had eyebrows that were almost always floating above his head. xDD
