This is hardly an exaggeration on the amount I own though, honestly.

I've seen fan theories that say perhaps the dinos still don't have feathers because they were mixed with modern reptile/amphibian DNA (namely the frogs/toads) and there is how, at the time of the book being written, it wasn't quite known that dinos had feathers. Plus, it was one of the few representations of T-Rex with a proper standing tail that stuck so it's not all bad... BUT... I agree, seeing them do feathers with the new CGI would be mega awesome.
I think the main part, though, is there are a LOT of people in the Jurassic Park and actual dino loving spheres that argue back and forth over what dinos should actually look like. I've seen people condemn those who draw JP style dinosaurs and the people who draw JP style dinos will get upset back saying it's what they grew up with so they don't want to change it or how the dinos are 'ugly' now with feathers. It's all pretty silly, actually. So I'm guessing the idea that people who draw feathers hate JP and people who draw JP hate feathers must have just stuck.

I just thought the quil look was nice in JP3? God it's been a long time. Jurassic World could have done feathers... The only excuse I heard was they wanted to keep the look from the original as being recognizable blah blah. GIve them a partial feather covering... Doesn't have to be a full one, I understand a fictional film. I'm only talking about the raptors used, since they could easily have them no questions asked.
Truly unfortunate. I hope that dies down or out just like "console wars" did. I do think some of the dinos are ugly. In the JW game.. lol. They have "skin" it's really weird. Put some feathers on those poor naked turkeys.

The theory I heard IS pretty old, to be honest. And they can have whatever excuses they want but the feathers WOULD be cool to see. More modern-made kid's dino movies are also seemingly not adding feathers, which is a shame... and I'm not very often seeing toys do it either... But, historically speaking, until Jurassic Park era, if I recall, T-Rexs were often depicted with tails that dragged on the ground despite it being well known at that point that they did not... so it may still take some time before Hollywood catches up, unfortunately.
I do hope to see more feathered dinos in popular media, seeing how different artists portray them would be really cool.
And I agree, the wars on what's cool and what's accurate is just silly. Having the historical view of what we used to believe is nice because it shows how far we've come, but having the accurate view also shows that we're fallible and that's okay and they're still REALLY neat. I haven't seen the JW game so I don't know but feathers would still be absolutely awesome.
