Bio:
Kureji Crane was born in Tokyo, Japan as a self-doubting klutz. Throughout his childhood, his clumsiness and skrawny limbs made him an easy target for bullies at school. So, he didn't have many friends growing up, except for Shaun, who told him not to take anything those bullies throw at him. So, with Shaun's words being his guide, Kureji tried his best to rise above his clumsy nature, only to have it drop down on him just as soon as he was getting somewhere. For a while, he had the notion to just give up after a while, until he found a flyer for a special martial arts class that accepted any special furries. Seeing this as a means to do something about his clumsiness, Kureji signed up.
He then found out that Shaun was also a student in this martial arts class, and he helped him through the classes. In time, Kureji found better balance in his legs thanks to this extensive martial arts training, but he would still screw up due to how lanky his legs are. After achieving his black belt, Kureji still thought he wasn't good enough, so he left the school to seek a more safe line of work. But, Shaun caught up with him, and told him that there's an opening at the Japanese Undercover Fighting Force, or JUFF, for any employment opportunities. So, Kureji found work at JUFF as the janitor because even though he's a skilled martial artist, he still refuses to be put in danger due to his lanky appearence.
However, Shaun told Whitnee about Kureji, and she believed that his skinniness could be useful for Team Shinobi. So, Whitnee approached Kureji, and asked him to try out in JUFF's obstacle challenge on Friday, where JUFF new recruits have to avoid obstacles to obtain a red flag. Kureji still had doubts, but Whitnee told him that he'll never know unless he tried it out. So, Kureji spent all night training, and the next day, went in to clean up after so many new recruits failed to get the flag. But, he accidentally stepped into the obstacle course, and he was able to dodge them easily because of his skinny frame. Once he completed the course, Kureji was promoted to full-time agent, and became Team Shinobi's eye in the sky.
Kureji would then meet Kitty Katswell and half of Team Katswell when she, John, Kimiko, Stan, and Niles came to JUFF's HQ in Tokyo as part of the TUFF Global Exchange Programme, although he was a bit nervous meeting a couple of famous heroes from across the Pacific Ocean. His nerves got even worse when Kimiko told them that one of her family's old foes, Kung-Pow Chicken, is at large in Tokyo, and is planning to cause a major crime riot in the city. Against his better judgement, Kureji went with the Team to do some investigating, but he got surprised by Kung-Pow's guards, who were able to kidnap Hayai and Shizu. He along with fellow Team Shinobi member Bumi Kuwanger managed to escape, but the event has given Kureji a new sense of bravery. So, he helped Kitty and the others rescue Hayai and Shizu while Kimiko dealt with Kung-Pow himself. After Kung-Pow's defeat, Kitty and the rest of Team Katswell returned to the U.S.A., but Kureji still has a stronger sense of justice in himself, and still helps Team Shinobi in any way he can.
Personality & Traits:
Kureji, as stated before, is very clumsy and awkward, which at first doesn't make him seem like the ideal person to be a martial artist. But, believe it or not, he actually has what it takes to be a great secret agent. He just doesn't have that much confidence in himself, and doubts himself every time he thinks he's going to screw up. But, if the odds are in his favor, Kureji pulls through, and becomes a real team player.
Kureji's best friend since childhood is Shaun Ibu, and the two of them have been very close. Shaun would always tell Kureji to not let limitations hinder him because of his scrawny limbs, and he really took his advice very well, even when he screws up. Whitnee, Team Shinobi's leader, is very patient with Kureji's clumsiness, seeing how she can tell he has a good heart, and Shizu thinks he's pretty cute. Kureji believes them, and does his best to make his teammates proud of him.
Kureji loves a good seafood dinner, given how he's a crane. He's also a pretty good dancer, even if his moves are a bit strange given his lanky limbs. He thinks that dancing is a great way to commuincate with others, and the moves express one's personality greatly. But, no one believes him, and think he's a nut when it comes to that. But, Kureji's still devoted to his job as a JUFF agent, and does his best to help out Team Shinobi.
Well, that's Kureji's update for "TUFF: Team Katswell." Hope you like it, Casey. ^^
