A small concept of the third subspecies of Mossters: Field Runners!
A curious kind and the scouts of the Moss community. They are slimmer and smaller than the other kind and have bigger ears. Their moss is also rather short and maybe pointy, allowing them to maneuver quickly. They like to use hardened clay for their accessories and tend to take the appearance of felines, rodents, and bats. Wheat, tall grass, small flowers, and other field plants grow on them naturally.
Unique feature: Tough Wind Walker!
Not only are they smaller, they are also lighter than the other kind. Their moss has a low density which makes the Field Runner so light that they seem like they defy gravity. They can jump very high, and are able to fly if they add wings to their body. As a drawback, they can get pushed or blown away by the wind easily, hence why they tend to have strong claws or grippy hands. Because of the low density of the moss, it regenerates more quickly, patching up a lost limb within hours instead of days without Field Runners getting paralyzed from lack of energy.
