I don't see it. The sword is on an angle, right? I'm guessing he's standing on some kinda slope, judging by his footing. The sword is in the ground at an angle and maybe some simple scenery in the background, just something to show the slope he's standing on, might help orientate people's mind so they can see the swrod is not just straight, but on a slant.
Just my thoughts. Awesome pic.

Shouldn't those "rocketboots" cover his toes so they don't get burnt off every time he uses them? And what about his tail? Is he just permanently surrounded by an aroma of burnt fur?
And where does he keep that sword when he isn't waving it around or pointlessly dulling it by stabbing it into the ground? He doesn't wear a belt or scabbard and it looks far too long to be drawn over the shoulder...

They aren't literaly "rocket boots" in the sense that one could fly with them. They are jump-jets for jump assistance and shock absorbers for falling from great heights. They use compressed submatter and/or air; no burning.
And the sword is summoned, there is no holding it when he doesn't need it.

If it uses compressed air, wouldn't it need some kind of big clunky air intakes? Also, compressing air (or any other type of gas/liquid in the same manner) to create enough pressure to propel a man through the skies would still create heat issues I think.
Or am I overthinking the technical side of things?

Nah, just imagine that technology thousands of years more advanced is going to look nothing like what we have today, so long as it looks believable to some degree, I think going into every detail would kill the fantasy aspect. I -do- overthink the technical side of things, it's just not all explained here on FA since most people wouldn't ask. I like it when some things are just accepted as scifi, while still explaining 'enough' to keep it conceivable.
And I say "air" because if the planet/location he's on doesn't have air, it doesn't use it. It, like many of my tech stuff, manipulates matter using Tau, a type of natural radiation that emanates from the core of the galaxy my storyline takes place in. It runs off of small compact batteries created in fusion reactors that merge dark matter with its subspace counterpart, and the resulting energy is captured in such small super-batteries that are present in a lot of my world's.. stuff. When used as fuel, it's burnt off as subspace energy, and doesn't affect things in the physical plane. (subspace, in my story, is a plane laying atop the physical world that consists of energy and radical particles. its used for much tech energy)
I also incorporate magic into my story as abnormalities in matter caused and manipulated by Tau radiation. So any loose ends are kinda explained with magicians and wizard characters.

Ooooo, nice footgears... I almost want a pair! :D
Is it just me, or is his muzzle shorter? O_o Either way, I really like how his design has improved, even if it's just by a little bit. I remember your earliest versions of Ark since before I started watching you, and I must say that I can't wait to see this one colored. :3

Rendered to vectors!? Holy crap you can do that? Does it ALWAYS look that good? Or I should say, is it easy to make it look that good? Please tell me a bit about it, I'm very interested.
I've been experimenting with adding 3d into my 2d workflow, but the results always look too... 3d. Your application of the technology here, with the sword, looks so perfectly hand-inked that I wouldn't even have known it was 3d in origin unless you'd told me. Skillz.
And your inking itself... ugh, it's SO beautiful. Is it too much if I ask what your sai settings are, too?
