KH Christmas (Twilight Town) Compliments to the Chef
posted 5 years ago Digital Artist
Well this was a little surprising...
I know...as weird as it sounds to newcomers...Twilight Town is actually SMALLER in Kingdom Hearts 3 than KH2!
That said though...the little that is there is good right?
Kind of....
There were plenty of NPCs there living their lives...and that one area with the movie screening's cool. And the forest was better too!
Yeah...though had to go through sewers for it since the hole got patched...and we also couldn't get back into that mansion again. I always found that weird...that we only ever really enter it once with Roxas in KH2...
Hmm...how about Remy though?
Ok, I admit, that was cool. Adding in Pixar's premiere little chef was an awesome addition. And not just to put him in, but have his work in cooking actually be a game mechanic. Collecting materials in the different worlds and cooking up a storm for actual benefits is awesome. Even performing well on the dish mini-games (dang those eggs...or was it the salt shakers?) gives you some nice items. Ever since the Tales series, I've had appreciation for food helping out characters.
And not just singulars, but a full course!
Oh yeah, the full course bonuses. Took a bit, but found that EXP bonus one that's REALLY helpful, especially since there are no accessories that grant that bonus in this one. Really helped to get to LV99.
While I do agree the town's smaller, it really does feel like a lively transit world than it was before.
I guess...but a lot of that missing stuff made the KH2 intro world what it was. *shrugs* Ah well, I guess it's ok...
Oooh! Since we world traveled, we should mention the Gummi Ships!
Oh right...yeah, I suppose KH3 did have the best iteration of the Gummi Ship work.
Flying through the galaxy-like void was awesome! Three different ones with several activities going on. And being able to have full control is awesome!
That it is. Sure, it moves to a familiar rail-shooter in battle, but that's classic. The ability to travel the realms between is a nice little break between worlds. Working with the gummi system isn't for everyone, but you can still pick up some items for the characters for use in the worlds, especially from treasure spheres, which is helpful.
Oooh, wish I was more creative with making them...oooh, I should make us if I play again hehehe.
