KH Christmas (Toy Story) Know What They Say About Ball Pi...
Oooooh hoo hoo hoo! The first Pixar world in Kingdom Hearts! Technically Remy gets the first character entry, but the first world belongs to Toy Story!
*shrugs* If Pixar was ever to be involved, Toy Story was definitely going to be at the top of the list for worlds to be included.
It was so cool to run around Andy's room...full of memories of those films...and even run around the street there...oooh and the full place of Galaxy Toys with all it's stores was SO cool!
Do gotta admit, the setting was awesome. Andy's room was definitely nostalgic...and the original Galaxy Toys place was pretty unique. Going around...I guess a toy mini-mall...AS toys was pretty cool. And the details on everything was so impressive...
Not to mention Woody and Buzz! They got to fight beside us! FIVE party members!
Yeah, that was a big thing in the Toy Story preview, showing off that your party can have five members active at once, pretty cool. Personalities were on point too. I mean Buzz's skepticism at the group from the start was interesting to see...and Woody...oh boy...I STILL remember the cowboy with major 'tude sticking it to the MAIN ANTAGONIST of the series with a smack-down back talk! Seriously, Woody was a beast!
Oh yeah! I remember that too! That was...wow, a pretty epic moment.
Dang straight.
The opening was also pretty awesome! Not to mention...pretty meta.
Well, given what it's ended up to now...ehh...
Oooh that's right...but for the time it was pretty cool in setting things up! From Sora being there, to actually seeing the game on display for BUYING! Weird right!? Oooh, and the robots!
Oh right those things...
Yeah! That was a neat little aspect! So cool you can get into them and fight mecha style! And each has different abilities.
Purple's the best! Laser destruction heh heh.
Exploring Galaxy Toys and seeing all the places and all the STUFF. They really did fine details. Hehehe, OH! And the helium balloon thing...
Yeah, that was a nice humorous touch heh heh. Also glad we could see the descriptions of some of those games too heh heh, Space Cats!
Ooooh, that was cool. Though story-wise, I did feel a bit for Buzz about the whole 'Heartless Toys' thing and the struggle he was going through. That was pretty deep thinking.
Pixar-level thinking. I mean, neither of us has seen TS4 yet, I know, a crime, so don't know all the details, but the whole 'living toys' thing is fascinating...add in KH's heart and soul stuff and it gets uncomfortably deep. Even more so, looking in the game's glossary, all the 'toy' enemies in this world ACTUALLY get their own entry as "Others" instead of Heartless/Unversed....which is...quite interesting.
All in all, Toy Story is a fabulous world, and a great start for Pixar themed ones. If there's a disappointment...I'd say it was the finale. We get ourselves a Heartless boss fight with a UFO, but unlike other ones, this one was a bit foreshadowed by the mascot of Galaxy Toys, "Vic the Visitor". Still, I figured that, to stay with Toy Story, Zerg would have shown up in some way. I dunno...maybe the theme of Hearts, Souls, and Toys was a bit too...unrefined just yet, making such an encounter more hollow. Maybe in the next TS installment, it'll be figured out suitably and we'll get a Zerg fight.
Hmm...wonder if anybody'll make toys of us one day heheh.
They better not make me 'those' kind of toys....
Action figure!
