I almost archived this song and that made me sad. When I sing this I don't represent a church or denomination and I most certainly do not represent fundamental evangelicalism. That's the number one reason I hesitate to have this on my gallery. Our political climate is wild right now in the US and there's nothing Christian about it. Things like Christian nationalism and the rampage to go out of their way to control and legislate people in Jesus' name... That's just wrong.

That being said I don't want to sing this song associated with any political view. I want to sing it as a deep cry for love and acceptance. I mean REAL acceptance. It's a cry for hope in a dark and messed up world.

Be true be you and know you're loved. He did it all for us. I believe that's a good place to start. Learning from each other in loving community, softening our hears and growing in wisdom. That's a life worth leading.
