So I just did a meme where I drew 10 characters I love, and I post it up, and then almost immediately afterward am like AUGH HOW DID I LEAVE OUT ROPE SNAKE

I don't think I've ever rooted for anyone harder.

All over, really! And generally, I'm using 4~5 different textures at a time, usually set to Overlay, Color Burn, or Multiply. I try to use some to make the image darker on the whole, and some to make it lighter, so that the values basically balance out, and it just adds visual interest.
i like to think that rope snake convalesced on the beach and discovered other talents he had
other talents that were perhaps less immediately evident than the eponymous one
but were useful and compelling nonetheless
and provided him the opportunity to live a fulfilling and contributory life.

Man alive. How did I miss this? I started playing Mother 3 on emulator, but got beaten down by not being able to do the timing thing... thanks to it being emulatored. I REALLLY want to keep playing it. I have NO idea what scene this is, but I know all those characters. It looks totally epic and dramatic despite how silly... oh god, I can't stop crying at how awesome mother 3 is. I'm literally BAWLING. It's that awesome. This picture too. It delivers. Mightily.
If it weren't so charming and funny and heartwarming, Mother 3 would really be too emotionally devastating a game to play. It is super affecting.
You should really go back and play it, dude. The timing thing is tricky in any format, but with practice, I manage 16's just fine on an emulator, and really, you don't have to be able to combo to beat it. Even if it means a bit more grinding, I totally recommend pushing through it. The game is beautiful.

I love this picture to bits.
The determination in that little snake's face is just awe gathering, rather inspirational. I love how the tones and tints of the color decrease as you follow the trail of characters downward. It just pops out and has me staring at it for minutes..hours.
I love your artwork. (:
