Wisp of a Goddess

I was only 120 years old when the Nexus took my people.

It was almost funny, how for the past five decades we’ve been slowly manipulating and adjusting every aspect of our bodies to accommodate that raw unrelenting energy, only for it to steal us away from existence in a blink of an eye.

The Nexus was a harsh place for us organics, a world where storms of energy beyond our comprehension raged on and celestial deities ruled with abilities that could scarcely be imagined.

For years we had an unspoken agreement with the gods of the Nexus, we harvested the energy of their world, in exchange. We allowed them a window into our reality where the laws of existence were drastically different to that of the Nexus. For those millennium old celestial beings, our world was like something out of a fairy tale.

Then one day it changed.

In a blink of an eye, a goddess claimed our entire race and consumed us within the Nexus.

I’ll never know the name of the being who stole my people, her name will forever elude me.

What I do know, is that those of us using the Nexus to travel the stars were spared from her embrace.

Or perhaps, we were cursed for eternity.

My 300th birthday has passed, my body refuses to decay or wither from age, and I no longer require food or water to survive.

Hope you all enjoyed that little snippet of writing I made to go with the picture/character... I stayed up till 2AM or something drawing Alexia as a massive spaceship/titan thing and I may have gone a little overboard on the design. Also drawing astronauts is harder than you think hehehe.

Soooo the whole 'living spaceship' has been playing on my mind since I first designed and set the limitations of Shapeshifter's, at it's core this is the closest my Shapeshifter species can get to being transhuman? Errr something like that, this is basically the peak of there evolution as a species where even the boundaries of space can no longer keep them contained.

The idea been bugging me ever since I started reading 'The Last Angel' which can be found on Spacebattles Forums. It's an amazing read about humanities first and last 'AI' controlled ship and it's adventures after humanity has been eradicated by genocidal aliens.

Been wanting to draw and write something similar with Alexia and her own little outlook of the universe.

Anyway I hope you all enjoy.

Length: 30+ meters?
Crew Capacity: 3 humans Max, provisions for 2 months.
Reactor/FTL Method: Terran Reality Drive
Sensors: FENRIS 3rd dimensional sensory package.
Armament:
1- spinal mounted 5 inch rail gun
1- rapid fire rail gun (fixed to interior of muzzle)
1- Internal rotating missile silos (4 small nuclear armed missiles)
2- 35mm Rotary Cannons (CIWS)
2- High Intensity Laser cannons (CIWS)
3 - 4 canister Anti-Missile interceptors. (Missiles designed to destroy enemy missiles)

Edit: The class is now called Europa Class Escort Gen1.
Armament have been reduced, with the missile launcher only carrying 10 Interceptor Missiles instead of the nuclear stuff listed above.
