This is a basic overview of "Traveling Abroad"'s world. It's not much but it's necessary to explain the world around the story. I might give a more in-depth explanation later but I just put in a few tidbits to whet the imagination!
The story "Travelling Abroad" takes place in a fantasy setting known as "Serenia", named after its goddess by the same name. The world consists primarily of one large continent. The rest of the planet consists of speckled islands across the ocean, typically referred to as the "Back Isles" by mainlanders. The story takes place in the central region of the continent. This area has a very rich, yet troubled history that I might talk about at a later date. For now, all you need to know is that this central region practices Feudalism amongst four major kingdoms. The two in Travelling Abroad are Majesteria and Kersovalia.
Majesteria is the country that I (Jake Penndragon) rule. Though, this was not always the case. The only law the four kingdoms share is the law of usurpation. The law states that anyone who challenges the king and wins is declared the new king (As long as the king doesn't have legitimate heirs). This law is generations old and is still in effect to this day, so monarchs always have to keep a close eye on potential usurpers. I may have made peace across the region but that doesn't mean that I won't be usurped.
